Quickstart
Four calls, each one a real request you can paste into a terminal or a TypeScript file.
1. Get a key
You can call tide with no key to try it. The keyless tier allows 2 requests a second and 1,000 credits a day per IP. For more, sign in with a Sui wallet at the developer portal and create a free key. The Free plan has 5 million credits a month.
export TIDE_API_KEY=tide_YOUR_KEYSend the key in the x-api-key header, as a Bearer token, or as ?api-key=. Examples below use the header and read the key from TIDE_API_KEY in TypeScript. In curl, replace YOUR_API_KEY or delete that line.
2. Make a call
List the assets a wallet owns. NFTs, kiosk items and, with an option, coins come back in one shape.
curl -X POST "https://api.tide.ad/" \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{
"jsonrpc": "2.0",
"id": 1,
"method": "getAssetsByOwner",
"params": {
"ownerAddress": "0xb30ad69255009768b8f651f10f0055090b19783755ec2154d7fd9cf873f7dc47",
"limit": 5,
"options": {
"showFungible": true,
"showNativeBalance": true
}
}
}'3. Read a transaction
Send digests and get typed transactions back, each with a one sentence description, transfers, object changes and events.
curl -X POST "https://api.tide.ad/v0/transactions" \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{
"transactions": [
"3nrSJ85TEooEfeXjbbDEVdsbebfYdFMXzHE3gBSHTkcT",
"2hhr9HKTRS7vnqc6r9ny7WQgecSzTnkAbPwrpGACKCE7"
]
}'4. Look at a past date
Read one coin balance for a wallet at a checkpoint or time. Every answer carries an asOf field that says which checkpoint it is true at.
curl "https://api.tide.ad/v1/wallet/0x671f7079e238edf837ae8d4fe8274f3337e1b20bbc08e2e9b9b7f5fcee9566e2/balance-at?coinType=0x2::sui::SUI&datetime=2026-11-01%2000:00:00" \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY"Hosts

- Your first app: a small script that reads a wallet.
- Data APIs: what you can read, product by product.
- Plans and credits: limits and what each call costs.
- MCP server: use tide from Claude, Cursor or VS Code.
